Description
Sensors are key components of any smart HW devices and are used across all Apple product lines.
The integration of those into the system allows a dynamic knowledge of the environment change and a better interaction with the user.
The sensor calibration & instrumentation team is responsible for calibrating a large variety of motion and optical sensors and validating their HW performance. Under this purpose, sophisticated and robust HW/SW solutions must be designed/developed and deployed in the factories.
Our team is looking for an intern who will be involved in Apple new product introduction (NPI) programs, including technical development and program management, and working with both the US and China teams.
Your responsibility will include but not limited to:
• SW - Develop, optimize and debug software in C/C++/Objective-C
• HW - Test and validate new lab equipments and tools
• Algorithm - Design, simulate and evaluate different calibration algorithms, sometimes involving Python or Matlab development
• Statistics - Analyze large amount of data, find potential problems, write report
• FA - Analyze the failures and propose the fix
Requirements
• BS in EE, MS preferred
• Good SW skills in at least one of the following two groups 1) C/C++/Objective-C or 2) Python/Matlab
• Strong analytical skills
• Good English level and communication skills
• Basic knowledge on electric circuit, ideally hands on experience with DMM/oscilloscope
• Fast learner and self-motivated
• Organized person, comfortable working in fast paced environment
• Optical knowledge highly appreciated
• Embedded systems experience
